Marriage is difficult. Every couple faces challenges - including

  • Frequent repeating arguments that never get solved
  • Focusing on the kids and work - instead of each other
  • Feeling lonely and disconnected

And when one partner is a First Responder, those pressures can be even more intense

  • Marital discord can have a significant negative impact on the First Responders' mental health & job performance.
  • Yet 82% of the RCMP who took this program said their schedule does not allow them to access couples therapy
  • The online Building Resilient Marriages Program provides a proven, self-paced, cost effective way for organizations to offer excellent mental health care to First Responders and their spouses

The program was offered to 100 RCMP & spouses and demonstrated impressive results

"I took your workshop for RCMP couples. At that time, my husband said he was done with our marriage. We are both members. Your program, the way it was run for police...it saved us. We just celebrated 25 years and we are both better than ever. You are the real deal, Cheryl. Thank you!"

Here is some more information about Cheryl -

Dr. Fraser is a Registered Psychologist in the province of BC and a sex therapist. She has been an approved psychologist for the RCMP , DVA & Veterans Affairs for 25 years

A highly successful and awarded Fulbright scholar and former university professor Dr. Cheryl has conducted research on sexual behaviour and what causes love relationships to succeed or fail. With her groundwork, she created the Become Passion online immersion program which she has offered to over 600 civilian couples.

With a rare combination of academic credibility, straight-talk, and life-changing advice, Dr. Cheryl is a sought-after media psychologist and relationship expert. Her work has been featured in many publications from the New York Times to the AARP US Veterans magazine. She is a published author and podcast host and an international speaker on the topic of relationships and has been a guest expert for Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield of Chicken Soup for the Soul, and more.

In 2022 she offered her original online  couples program to RCMP couples. Based on the success of that effort, she revised the program to make it even more targeted to First Responders. That led to the Building Resilient Marriages program.

In a word, yes. As you hear in the video above, I've worked with many First Responder couples in therapy. While I respect the in-person model, it is an expensive, time consuming and logistically difficult process for many couples. And let's face it, it's pretty much impossible for First Responder (FR)  couples to get to a weekly 90-minute appointment together for 6-18 months in a row...which is what couples therapy requires.

The online Building Resilient  Marriages program lets FR couples choose a time or two that works for them each week, settle on the couch, and watch the video lessons and do the exercises.

This program offers couples education, advice, support and training that fit into their schedule and provides actionable tools for real change.

There are bonus expert classes on topics from Supporting a Spouse with PTSD to Utilizing Couples Conflict Management technique in the Workplace that supplement the core curriculum and bring even more tools and techniques to First Responders
